For a man shall not withhold his hand from slaying his sons and his sons’ sons, And the sinner shall not withhold his hand from his honoured brother: From dawn till sunset they shall slay one another.Aristobulus slew his beloved brother Antigonus (Josephus, Ant. xiii. 11. 1, 2). On the internecine strife that was to initiate the kingdom cf lvi. 7, xcix. 5, 6; Zech. xiv. 13; Ezek. xxxviii. 21; Hag. ii. 22; Mic. vii. 6; Matt. x. 21, 34, 35, xxiv. 10, etc.
